I started off as a cashier at OfficeMax. I chose that position because I had always loved the office supply section at any store I went to growing up. I grew up shy, energetic and inquisitive. After working face-to-face with customers, the shyness went away and I learned that I like interacting with people on a professional level. Once I left OfficeMax, I went to work for Convergys as a CSR in a call center, on a sales project for a TV company. While there I became a trainer and found I loved the public speaking side of life. I met my wife there and we soon found ourselves becoming parents.I needed to make more money as our goal was for her to be a stay-at-home mom. I took a job as a CSR at Gerber Collision and started being trained to become an Estimator. As the CSR I also wrote estimates, handled the customer experience front to back and was the assistant manager without title. I even handled the Accounts Receivable as it pertained to customers and insurance companies. My shop was the only Gerber Collision in Utah to have AR caught up with nothing over 60 days. The pay structure couldn't support me getting pay raises so I went to work at Cutrubus Collision Center, a dealership shop, as the Estimator there then soon went to work at a larger shop, Larry H Miller Collision Center, another Dealership shop.My brother had started a Concrete company that specialized in flatwork and needed some help. I did flatwork for him and Earls Concrete for a few months while his business grew and I went back to work at Cutrubus as the lead estimator. I was offered a job as a concrete pump operator by Alpine Concrete Pumping and that is where I work now. During my time at Cutrubs the 2nd time, I formed a business relationship with Ryan Tippets. The owner of the Ogden region franchise for SCA Appraisal Co. He needed help with some particular streams of claims and I did them remotely. That relationship lasted for 3 years until his passing midyear in 2022 throughout my work as a Pump Operator.Now I have four young children and desire to spend more quality time with them. Something that can be seldom had in construction. My intent is to reduce hours from the Pump and pick up the income loss with a WAH job and to eventually transition to full time from home.
