My career in radio broadcasting has spanned over 30 years primarily in the business / sales and management side of it. I have worked mostly in small / medium sized markets in New Hampshire. After leaving the "day to day" side of the radio business in 2005 I partnered with a former colleague to develop an e-commerce program designed to create a new revenue stream for radio stations from non-radio advertisers called The DollarSaver Program. We are currently working with radio and TV stations in over 25 markets. Along the DollarSaver Program I have formed a publishing company that produces a quarterly publication entitled Around Concord, that is tailored for and distributed in the greater Concord NH area.

OwnerDollarsaver Program (Revenue Without Ratings Llc) 2006 - PresentDollarSaver Program is an e-commerce program designed to create a new revenue stream for radio and television stations with non-radio/TV advertisers. It is currently active in 26 markets and on over 50 radio / television stations. Co-owned by Brit Johnson, the DollarSaver Program began in the early 90's by my partner Brian Phoenix. In 2006 we retooled it for the internet. The basis of the program is simple. We partner with a radio or TV station and train their sales staff to aquire goods and services from area businesses through barter. In return the business gets an advertising package. We then sell the bartered goods/services at a discount to the listeners/viewers of the station(s) in the form of certificates. Our system provides instant gratification to the customer by allowing him/her to print their aquired certificate instantly. The DollarSaver system tracks all inventory and sales; provides financial and sales reports while creating a retail store that is open 24/7. We sell certificates to restaurants, shoe stores, oil changes, day spas, clothing stores, hotel getaways, ski tickets, water parks, golf courses and plenty more. Big ticket items have sold as well...cars, motorcycles, school courses, large wedding packages, HD TV's, $1,000 gift cards to Home Depot, and appliances to name a few. The stations love the program because it allows them to target non-advertisers and turn them into cash; the listeners/viewers love it because they save 30-50% at local businesses and the businesses love it because they can now advertise without spending cash!

Owner / Gsm / GmWjyy / Whni Etc. 1979 - 2005Started in the radio business in 1979 (earlier if you include college radio). Spent the early 80's in the greater Boston Market. Moved to NH in '85 as GSM at WGIR AM...on to WLKZ and WKOS in '87 as GSM. Joined WJYY in 1990 as sales manager. In 1993 I partnered with 3 other guys and we purchased 105.5 FM and 107.7 FM....and a CP for WNHI FM. Eventually aquired 92.1 (Milford NH ). WNHI signed on in 1994 with Imus / Classic Rock format. WJYY simulcast on 92.1 became a hot AC and 107.7 eventually dropped the country format and also became a simulcast partner. We incorporated the Consumer Value Minute program onto all stations thus creating a seperate revenue stream from non radio advertisers. That grew to do 185k annually and eventually morph into my current project, The DollarSaver Program, in 2007. We sold the stations in 2000 to Vox Radio Group....I stayed on as GM...and then we sold to Nassau Broadcasting in 2004. I left my position with Nassau in 2005 and partnered with Brian Phoenix in 2006 to develop an online version of the Consumer Value Minute and renamed it the DollarSaver. The DollarSaver is now in 26 markets and is generating hundreds of thousands of dollars for small and medium market radio stations and a few TV stations.
