COA Youth & Family Centers helps Milwaukee children, teens, and families reach their greatest potential through a continuum of educational, recreational, and social work programs offered through its urban community centers and rural camp facility. As a multicultural agency, COA values diversity and cooperation, and promotes growth and positive social interaction.Teen Program Coordinator: Responsible for the supervision and quality of service delivery for the Teen Program for youth ages 13 to 18, providing administrative, management, and professional (hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, disciplining, and evaluating) support that ensures high quality programs are planned and delivered with youth input that meet the mission, philosophy, standards and goals of COA so that all programs and services are emotionally, socially, and physically safe for all participants. Ensure programs meet best practices for youth programming. Within a year, more than doubled enrollment/attendance in program, increased engagement through provision of quality programming, helped to maintain safety and inclusiveness within program while enduring rigorous transition, and provided tools that promote self-efficacy for participants aging out of program.

Public Allies' mission is to create a just and equitable society and the diverse leadership to sustain it. Public Allies is changing the face and practice of leadership in communities across the country by demonstrating our conviction that everyone can lead, and that lasting social change results when citizens of all backgrounds step up, take responsibility, and work together. As a Fellow, I support first year Allies through professional and personal development, facilitate Diversity and Anti-Oppression trainings, and coordinate service days to be executed throughout the Greater Milwaukee Area.Community Health Ambassador: Works for the Milwaukee Lifecourse Initiatives for Healthy Families through the Community Impact Division. Responsible for promotion of healthy birth outcomes and building capacity of partnerships through tabled events throughout the Greater Milwaukee area and working within subcommittees that serve to combat high rates of infant mortality in the City of Milwaukee. Developed and maintained community asset inventory to provide resources to community partners and the public at engagement events to raise awareness about public health issues. Participated in a national network to advance resource sharing and best practices in community health work. Administered surveys and outreach to measure social cohesion, everyday discrimination and identify access needs and trends through Community Conversations.Fellow: Planned, collaborated, and executed “Systems of Oppression” trainings and service days for Ally class. Provided professional and personal support to 1st year Allies through coaching and modeling appropriate behavior. Performed and participated in the National Leadership Institute, headed by Public Allies, helped to create sustainable partnerships within United Way, and advocated within the community in support of Healthy Birth Outcomes through Harunbee, Milwaukee’s first ever walk/run with Fellow Ally, Tonda Thompson.

Administrative Assistant/Riverwest Activities Coordinator: Responsible for providing administrative support to Human Resources, Associate Executive Director, Executive Director, Finance, and Administrative Manager. Provided customer service to all participants, donors, board members through physical greeting and answering phones. Assisted with the registration process for our camps offered throughout the year and assist in the recruitment of staff for camp.
