I am currently a Teacher at Harbor Childcare. This job taught me a lot and the most important lesson is to be patient. Working in a extremely diverse environment with students of different backgrounds will help me to better develop and or get better with some of my prior skills both personally and professionally.Before I started this job I was a student athlete at the Northern Illinois University, where I studied and ran track there for two years. Graduating and getting my BA in Communication and doing a great on the track were my main goals. And I did just that. Coming from a different background adaptation was one of the main things for me as the culture is extremely different in Jamaica as opposed to here in America. So, working hard was and is still a part of me and who I am today. As an athlete you learn not to be comfortable because if you do you’ll get beaten. So I transferred that knowledge and work ethics to the world of work and with that I have the same attitude and mentality. Never get complacent. I enjoy working, communicating with people and most importantly helping individuals to achieve their goals in whichever way I can. So, my future goal is to continue to help as much as I possibly can while getting better at my craft, learn as much as I possibly can, so I can live as comfortably as I wish.
