Software Engineer in the making through General Assembly's Web Development Immersive Course (12 weeks, all day, every day) to build coding skills and fluency in full stack web development. Learning Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, CSS, and CoffeeScript. The course was rigorous and intensive but also incredibly rewarding.

I began my career at XO Communications as a Marketing Intern in the summer of 2009. Subsequently, XO created the Marketing Coordinator role throughout all of its regions. My primary responsibilities are over the field marketing collateral, communications and recognition for an 11-market region supporting over 200 employees. In addition, I assist in developing strategic initiatives including sales incentives, sponsorships and networking events. Throughout my time at XO, I’ve had the pleasure of working across departments allowing the culture of our organization to unite.

From skeptical volunteer to passionate runner, my role with Back on My Feet has been life changing to say the least. I first joined the Dallas Life team as a volunteer only to fall in love with the people and philosophy of the organization. After the Austin Chapter launch in January of 2013, I am back running with a team. I’ve also contributed to BoMF through freelance design work and fundraising. Some highlights include The Man Run logo, Christmas Cards, The 24-Hour Treadmill Challenge and Sneaker Week at XO Communications.

As one of the first marketing interns at XO, I navigated unknown waters by bringing value to the projects at hand. My main contribution was through conceptual development and visual design of newsletters, motivational posters, an internal blog and presentations. It was this internship that sparked my interest in pairing creative design with the competitive business world.

At Temerlin Advertising Institute, I conducted a de-consumption and deprivation field study that was covered by the Dallas Morning News on 12-23-2009. I was responsible for recruiting participants, conducting primary and secondary research, directing focus groups and presenting a formal research report.

While studying abroad in Australia, I had the opportunity to travel South East Asia on a Study Tour Project hosted by SMU Cox School of Business. We traveled to 5 Chinese cities researching the condition of the current wine industry and market. After a month of research, we presented our business plan to enter the market to the top wine importer in China, ASC Fine Wines. My team’s business plan won against the competition and was chosen by ASC as the top frontrunner.
