Ever since my childhood, I've had an innate desire to help others, to make a difference in people's lives. This deep-rooted passion drew me to the field of social work, where I've been able to use my skills with several diverse groups, to bring about positive change. I am the first generation college student in my family. I always said I would break the chain, (dropping out of school, having a baby at 16 and giving the child up) raise my daughter and go to college. So I have done just that, which has shown my daughter that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Life has not been easy, nor has school. Yet through it all, My daughter has been my biggest cheerleader and motivator. For that, I am forever grateful.
