I combine a mix of geospatial experience, sales, business, and strategy to identify, promote and market leading edge geospatial technologies. With a heavy background in Geospatial Sciences (GIS) and a decade of working with land surveyors and AEC professionals I have effectively used cutting edge technologies to attack some of the most complex issues and problems and now use that experience for my customers and partners. Since University over 10 years ago, I have been heavily focused on how drone technologies are going to change the geospatial sciences, and how to move that into the mainstream. Serving as the technical expert for my team we researched how Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) could be used on the newly developed Gulf of Mexico Oil spill. This position allowed me to continue my technical development, but also increased my experience in working with and in big government organizations and producing results.• Worked in a close-knit deadline driven group to successfully research and document the use of Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) to record oil extent along the wetlands along the Barataria bay in the Gulf of Mexico. • Co-authored a published technical paper through researching background literature for overall project, with specific focus on how SAR data has been utilized for oil detection in water, as well as how to implement a research methodology to apply to our project and sensor technical specifications.• Utilized digital image processing software ERDAS Imagine and ENVI to remotely sense oil using both SAR and hyperspectral data through supervised classification schemes and feature extraction.• Identified and integrated outside data sets such as data tables and in-situ data into analysis.• Created cartographic products from results of remote sensing research. Products included thematic maps, Google Earth compatible imagery, and poster format presentation with brochures.• Assessed the environmental impact of the oil spill through both GIS, remote sensing, and ground observations.• Presented findings and results to science team at JPL, as well as possibly future conferences and other academic venues.
