As one of the initial group of employee's for senseFly's growth into the North American market I joined in a technical role where I provided expertise in both the flying and data processing to further understand and enhance our product and client's deliverables. As part of a small initial group of people this role also meant getting the job done, from anything to office issues or setup, client demos, trade shows, support, logistics, or anything needing to be done. Through continued collaboration with the sales team I slowly built a rapport and skills to fully transition to that side. • Provide technical expertise in both hardware and software to identify workflows and solutions for mutual customers in order to expand market base.

Virtual Surveyor was an early leader in LiDAR software development, and then services. I joined this team in the transition of the software to a new engine and workflow. We successfully implemented this service into major Department of Transportation and other government entities such as Utah DOT.I was then part of our next shift into the services side of LiDAR processing. As part of this I began my first steps into sales and sales development by leading both sales pitches and working directly with potential clients to sell our services and software. • Provided pre / post sales support to all potential and current clients. Included on-the-fly technical sales presentations to potential clients and partners while managing their current and future needs.• Provide customer support, workflow improvement, and troubleshooting for LiDAR products VG4D SmartLiDAR Explorer, and VG4D Virtual Navigator.• Serve as a liaison for the customer in regards to software development and product management.• Identified and cultivated business opportunities spanning software sales, to consulting and service work for projects ranging from small to very large. • Create and provide customized training programs, documents, and tutorials to customers based on their current and future needs.• Create documentation for full suite of products (Technical Manuals, User Manuals, Update Logs, Data Sheets, Advertisements, etc.)• Organize and populate companies' social media platforms. • Taught intensive 2-3 day training programs to new users to familiarize them with the software and identify key workflows and processes required for their individual needs.• Implemented, populated, and managed the integration of a CRM (Zoho) system within the organization to track not only sales, but also customer support and long term research.

CSULB is a leading research university for the California State University system. During my graduate classes I took a leading role in helping to develop and design both the hardware and software of drone mapping in their infancy. This included both cutting edge research on how to actually use the data, but also to build mapping hardware that could be used for research. My associateship was financed through grants through both National Geographic, National Sciences Foundation and my professors who led me into my career of utilizing drones for mapping and surveying. • Performed role of Teaching assistant for both a fundamentals of GIS course, as well as a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded research for undergraduates (REU) program which focused on imagery acquisition through unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and vehicles (UAV) and the collection of ground data on the island of Kauai and subsequent year on Oahu.• Provided ad hoc outside research and analysis on multiple grants including work done in Kauai, Mali, Rapa Nui, and several local projects. Products from this research included many remotely sensed images and statistics, as well as maps, data identification and collection, and management.• Worked with department staff to implement and support floating license servers, and ArcGIS Server.• Maintained lab hours and assisted students with the completion and comprehension of lab work, GIS concepts and assignments ranging from GIS and remote sensing assignments to general geographic theory and techniques.• Assisted the CSULB Geography department and faculty with research projects ranging from data and map creation to general research and poster printing.• Operated and maintained equipment such as plotters, printers, GPS units, workstations, tablets and others.

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory does not really need any introduction. I won and was awarded an internship here during my graduate studies. Serving as the technical expert for my team we researched how Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) could be used on the newly developed Gulf of Mexico Oil spill. This position allowed me to continue my technical development, but also increased my experience in working with and in big government organizations and producing results.• Worked in a close-knit deadline driven group to successfully research and document the use of Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) to record oil extent along the wetlands along the Barataria bay in the Gulf of Mexico. • Co-authored a published technical paper through researching background literature for overall project, with specific focus on how SAR data has been utilized for oil detection in water, as well as how to implement a research methodology to apply to our project and sensor technical specifications.• Utilized digital image processing software ERDAS Imagine and ENVI to remotely sense oil using both SAR and hyperspectral data through supervised classification schemes and feature extraction.• Identified and integrated outside data sets such as data tables and in-situ data into analysis.• Created cartographic products from results of remote sensing research. Products included thematic maps, Google Earth compatible imagery, and poster format presentation with brochures.• Assessed the environmental impact of the oil spill through both GIS, remote sensing, and ground observations.• Presented findings and results to science team at JPL, as well as possibly future conferences and other academic venues.

ESRI is the largest provider of mapping software in the world. I was fortunate to get part of my career started here in a customer facing support role. During the release of ArcMap 10.0 (a large update) I worked side by side with the support team at ESRI to help the initial release of the new software. • Provided customer support and workflow enhancement during launch of ArcMap 10.0. • Assisted with testing, analysis, QA / QC and documentation of customer problems.• Develop work-arounds and methods to resolve software issues and general technical problems.• Tested, replicated, and documented software bugs with the new version of ArcMap 10.0.• Copy edited, and contributed information to ESRI online databases such as ESRI Knowledgebase, Wiki.gis.com, as well as internal bug and knowledge databases.
