Led $5M project where the client converted an existing plant from monoammonium phosphate (MAP) production to ammonium sulphate (AS). The scope involved the refurbishment of multiple pieces of materials handling and pumping equipment, and the replacement of piping for high-pressure and temperature-critical services, such as ammonia, sulphuric acid, and high-pressure steam. Responsible for the quality and execution of the mechanical scope with a team of 8 engineers.

Suncor Energy, Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada - Fort Hills Mine Oil Sands Project - Detailed Engineering Design phase $14B project for Fort Hills Mine Oil Sands Project for the new 160,000 barrels per day oil sands facility (including hydrotransport, primary extraction, secondary extraction, tailings and utilities facilities). Responsibilities include deliverable coordinator for Piping/Mechanical/Civil/Structural (over 200 Engineering Work Packages), and Requisition Engineer for two $1M barges, a recycle water pumphouse and three tailings booster pumphouses.

Syncrude, Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada - Tailings Relocation North Mine South Pit East. Project Engineering Manager for the FEED and Detailed Design phases of a $500M project for Syncrude Mining Facilities. The Project included the installation of 5 large diameter tailings lines, a new substation, new pumphouse and the relocation of a dredge. Accountable for the overall engineering quality for the project.

Syncrude, Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada – Miscellaneous Projects $2M-$50M. Responsible for overseeing engineering quality and alignment of technical deliverables by the Engineering Contractor. Participated in project cost reduction, reliability, decision and risk analysis activities; project planning and coordinating client expert and cold eyes design review. Responsible for various Syncrude deliverables to the Project Executive and Sponsors for Gate approval.

Syncrude, For McMurray, Alberta, Canada – Miscellaneous Projects. Responsible for technical solutions and mechanical deliverables, co-lead mechanical project teams on projects up to $450M. Working knowledge of stress analysis, ABSA registration requirements, piping design and slurry pumping systems. Shell Canada Products – Scotford – Upgrader Turnaround. Field Engineering support during the 2006 Upgrader Turn Around. Designed and prepared engineering work packages for the installation of temporary lines to facilitate the shutdown of the plant. Provided quality surveillance, troubleshooting, construction and commissioning support.

Worked as a Forensic Engineer providing technical investigation and reporting services for insurance claims and legal litigations. Specialized in fire origin and cause investigation (residential, commercial, industrial and vehicle fires) and failure investigation (plumbing, gas, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical equipment and systems).Managed staff, developed procedures, processes and resources for the Property Department. Lead/sole Investigator on the cause of over 600 property and financial losses. Lead Forensic Investigator on a $27M industrial loss of a peat moss processing plant where successful subrogation was achieved of claims against 5 other parties. Project coordination and supervision of third party specialist engineering expertise. Civil litigation, expert witness testimony and critiquing of third party experts report.
