• Led a small team in the organization and management of a 3-week field research project, assessing the biodiversity and abundance of small mammal species within the Vwaza Marsh Nature Reserve. • A study on small mammal species had never been conducted in this reserve, and so findings of the project provided a substantial contribution to research and conservation efforts within Malawi. • Took upon the responsibility of writing a scientific report to aid in the dissemination of our findings, which included the production of a ‘Small Mammal Species of Vwaza Marsh’ booklet for use at the reserve.

• Conducted independent field research on populations of the critically endangered brown-headed spider monkey (Ateles fusciceps fusciceps) in the Choco Rainforest • Compared the effectiveness of two survey techniques, in order to establish a more efficient and accurate survey methodology for evaluating biodiversity loss or gain within tropical rainforest environments• Involved analysing large datasets using DISTANCE 7.2 sampling software• Developed complex mapping systems using ArcGIS• Findings of this project contributed towards conservation efforts for Ateles fusciceps fusciceps in the Tesoro Escondido Nature Reserve.
