Interacted/communicated with the residents through artwork and getting to know them in general.-Assisted staff with the 100 year anniversary quilt making project.-Currently working on putting together 12x12 quilt pieces of all of the individuals who are living in group homes. -Asked all of the families of these individuals to send us artifacts and pictures to commemorate their lives with us on quilt pieces that we are eventually going to stitch together to create a large wall-size quilt. -The project is entitled “Stitching together a century of stories”. Anticipate the completion and exhibition of the quilt in December of this year. The place for exhibition is also in the works. -Art Therapy Intern will be present at the exhibition.-Art Therapy Intern worked in a group setting but was able to manage one-on-one time with client. -Researched Art Therapy grants for the developmentally disabled. Replied phones, paged staff members, handled computer operated membership sign-in, sold memberships to new customers and renewed current memberships as well as terminating expired memberships, signing members up for classes offered throughout the year. *Greeted members upon entering and exiting the facility, used MS Excel to manage guest passes. *Communicated with members mostly informing them concerning how memberships work as far as the termination process and fees along with the classes that are offered all year round. *Placed phone calls to customers notifying them when their membership expires and the date it needs to be renewed otherwise, the membership termination process would be in effect.

Cashed out customers, handled customer service desk returns, replied phones, lead customers in the right direction for the item they were in search of, explained how different products work for curious customers. *Straightened my designated zone in between operating the register, put returned items back on the shelf. *Stated the closing announcement over the intercom system, paged managers and associates, counted the change fund prior to and after my shift, calculated the present sales book in comparison to the previous year’s numbers.
