This position required assisting the head coach in multiple aspects of the Gymnastics program. I planned and coordinated team travel: created each trip itinerary, planned each meal, and executed all details to ensure each trip was seamless. I organized all on-campus recruiting visits: created the itinerary, scheduled all meetings, coordinated all catering and reservations, and assisted with campus tours. I helped plan and execute all team meetings and team development. I assisted in the planning and execution of summer camps: assisted in creating the daily schedule, worked with vendors to design and order all summer camp apparel, and served as a summer camp leader.Beyond the technical scope of this position, this role allowed me to grow significantly in many ways. I've engaged in many meaningful conversations relating to essential team decisions. As a staff, we often discussed the advantages and disadvantages of making particular decisions, which allowed me to develop my skill of communicating effectively. I was responsible for keeping important decisions confidential which helped me to develop a new level of professionalism. In addition to personal growth, I've also homed in on my organizational skills. For example, I was responsible for ensuring all team travel was seamless. I would coordinate with all parties involved with our trip, which included coordinating with restaurants, hotel staff, bus drivers, and facility staff.

I attended all practices, helped with any needs throughout each workout, and assisted the coaches and team during competitions and travel. Outside of practice, I was responsible for ordering specific training equipment and all team gear. I met with a Nike representative each year to review the upcoming year’s apparel and shared those options with the staff. During this process, I learned to manage just under a $100,000 annual budget for these items and learned the importance of meeting deadlines. I was responsible for cleaning all practice, travel and competition laundry as well as packing all apparel for travel competitions for each student-athlete.
