- Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Population Health Sciences- Responsible for leading the evaluation of several initiatives targeting Type 2 diabetes prevention and care in the state of Utah. Initiatives include school-based nutritional education and prevention, the UofU Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), and The Wellness Bus, a community-based mobile health clinic program for chronic disease prevention.-Evaluating the impacts of an Intensive Outpatient Clinic for high-cost, high-need patients within the University of Utah Health system on improvements in patient-centered outcomes of health and quality of care, as well as reductions in health care costs and utilization.

Riverside, California

Ph.D. student in the University of California, Riverside's Social/Personality & Health Psychology program.Conducted research in the Biobehavioral Research Lab. My research program explores the psychosocial factors (e.g., personality, emotional processes, social support) that underlie people's illness behaviors or reactions to bodily symptoms (e.g., adopting the sick role, medication use, health utilization, etc.), genetic test uptake, and other medical decisions across the lifespan. Projects included a longitudinal study exploring the predictive value of individual difference factors and family transmission on illness behavior patterns from adolescence to early adulthood; a meta-analysis on the relationship between perceived risk and genetic testing decisions; and a longitudinal study examining associations of social support with illness behaviors and trends in functional decline among older adults. I have also gained proficiency in SAS, SPSS, HLM, and Mplus statistical analysis software programs, as well as some experience working in R.

Santa Monica

In charge of lab organization, scheduling, and maintenance. Specific responsibilities included purchasing equipment, maintaining financial records, updating computers and the lab’s website, coordinating weekly lab meetings, and recruiting undergraduate research assistants at the beginning of each semester. Also worked with the lab director in drafting and submitting new grant applications as well as maintaining and renewing lab protocols. Assisted in projects exploring social cognition across the lifespan, spontaneous social judgments in ecological settings, and negative affect’s influence on the accuracy of everyday social judgments.

Greater Boston Area

Coordinated a longitudinal study exploring the role of alcohol-related self-identity in college students’ risky drinking behaviors. Recruited, scheduled, and ran all 141 participants. Also worked with my two supervisors to draft protocol modifications and a grant progress report and co-authored the final manuscript. I also served as the lead research coordinator on a project exploring social networking site profiles as an ecologically valid measure of alcohol-related self-identity.
