I began work in childcare in 2012; my experience includes child watch at the YMCA, long-term nannying for twin infants, to lead teaching at Kindercare Learning Center. Currently, I work as a Lead Toddler Guide for a Montessori school in the West Loop of Chicago.Amidst early childhood education jobs, I worked as a permaculture intern at Minnetrista Cultural Center in Muncie, IN. I assisted throughout the construction, design and care for the permaculture garden, and was solely responsible for public education sessions and community engagement.While working full-time as a nanny, I continued on as a full-time online student through IU East. I graduated in May 2020 with a Chancellor's List award.My teaching philosophy stems from my psychology background. I promote prosocial behaviors by modeling respect and warmth; fostering self-efficacy and independence; and scaffolding a child's skills.
