Jigsaws, Tetris, Trivia, Murder Mysteries. I've always been intrigued by puzzles and logic, as well as a proclivity of figuring things out. This natural inquisitiveness led me to a Bachelors of Science in Biology from The University of Georgia. While there I discovered a more focused interest in the medical profession. After a short career working for Anheuser Busch, I became a stay at home Mom for a few years as my husband was in the military. One of the worst parts of being a spouse to a military person comes at the cost of having a personal career. Moving repeatedly forces many sacrifices as some job professions just do not travel well. After doing this for several years I stumbled on to Medical Coding as a possible answer to this dilemma as it affords me to work remotely, thus allowing my own personal career and growth trajectory. I obtained my CPC-A in December of 2022, immediately began Practicode training and completed this in March of 2023. Upon completion I received my CPC from AAPC and began my coding career. In December of 2023 I furthered my certifications by obtaining my CRC. The opportunity for further career advancement within the medical coding community has lit a fire for education, as well as personal and professional growth.
