I conducted research and worked on multiple projects for SOME. The first project was to communicate with other agencies in the DC area to help identify and bridge the gaps in services provided to clients. The second project was to research and communicate with employers in the DC metropolitan area to identify places that would be willing to hire individuals with criminal records in order to help improve employment of the clients.

For the first few summers I was a counselor for kids ages 5-12. The last two summers I was there I worked with kids ages 13-16. The last summer I was there I was promoted to summer coordinator for the counselor in training program. I was responsible for planning and organizing lesson plans and field trips, leading activities and setting a good example for the kids. I was also responsible for coordinating the YMCA's Summer of Service program. Within that program I had to contact organizations around the DC Metro Area and organize community service activities for kids ages 13-16.
