Worked as an R&D packaging scientist with the Brita department. Used a pump rig and performed chlorine reduction tests to analyze the feasibility of a new product. Ran consumer tests and analyzed material spectroscopy of a product. Worked with suppliers to acquire samples for testing. Presented regular project updates for management and all R&D departments.

Worked on the Quality Team in the Pre-Heat and Hot Rolling Department as a Metallurgist Intern. Assisted in customer qualifying and commissioning of new Ebner pusher furnace. Planned metal loads into furnace according to customer specs and metallurgical testing needs. Examined thermographs for proper homogenization, earring, and mechanical property results from lab, and surface defects of metal coming from the new furnace. Assisted with coordination and completion of rolling four of the largest metal coils in plant history for future expansion project. Planned and led Measurement Assurance Kaizen on 96” rolling mill. Participated in three-day level 2 Visual Process Management Kaizen. Measured, statistically analyzed, and examined profile of metal slabs exiting equipment at three places using ultrasonic device and Excel.Undergraduate Research (Fall and Spring 2011)Worked as assistant in Computational NanoBio Technology Lab. Constructed and planned computer models used to simulate heparin hydrogel reactivity to proteins, atomic structure, and use as drug releaser in the human body. Researched and presented research papers written on heparin hydrogel.
