I am a natural leader that has a passion for helping others succeed. I believe in creating an environment that encourages and promotes sharing knowledge and skills to build up individuals and thus strengthening the team as a whole. I use organization as my base foundation for prioritizing care in a rapidly changing environment. I started my nursing career on a Neuro Telemetry floor, specializing in strokes, and quickly advanced to the position of preceptor for new graduate registered nurses. After working on the Neuro Tele floor for eight months, I was offered an opportunity to help open a new unit called, Step Down ICU. In preparation for working on the Step Down ICU, I was trained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for eight weeks. I gained knowledge and experience training in the ICU caring for critically ill patients with COVID – 19 and other comorbidities. After a few months of working in the Step Down ICU, I quickly advanced to the position of relief charge. Shortly after taking on the role of relief charge, I started to precept in the Step Down ICU. I took the knowledge I learned from more experienced nurses and critical situations to help develop the critical thinking skills of the nurses I precept and mentor as a relief charge.
