Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work in many areas of design including packaging design and retail/environmental design as well as a lot of the more traditional branding, logo work, icon and infographic design, print and digital work, photo editing, social and email marketing, and more. My most recent career has given me a huge perk of working globally as well. This means developing projects to work in different languages and appealing to the specific region it is being made for. For Haygain I worked as the sole designer for the North American, United Kingdom, Netherlands, and German markets. Specifically as the Creative Design Lead I am responsible for not only maintaining the brand and showcasing in its best ability, but also providing guidance to other members of the team on how to correctly use the brand. I directed members of the social team, website developers, and sales team on correct brand usage. For each of these regions I was developing print material such as instructional booklets, ads, brochures, and sales sheets. Digitally I was tasked with creating interesting social ads, social campaigns, and educational posts to engage customers to drive sales, as well as provide product information. I also had the chance to work closely with our E-Commerce Specialist to redesign the websites for each region. Amongst daily tasks I would also direct and manage photoshoots, revamp branding guidelines, create icons for brand usage, design event booths (as well as work them!), and more. My team often looked to me to organize many aspects of the brand as I love creating order from chaos it seems! One of my biggest tasks was reorganizing the company Dropbox...let’s just say it had never had a system since the company started so it was a bit of an overhaul! Alongside my full-time job I have worked freelance design for Schneider’s Saddlery for 7 years. I create the bulk of their email marketing so it is always fun to see my designs pop-up in my inbox! I occasionally help with their magazine development as well. Having this freelance job has taught me valuable lessons on time management to be able to efficiently work while not interfering with either jobs time requirements. Honestly I love the ability to work this job in my after hours time because it opens me up to another area of design to further develop my skills.
