The Florida Channel is the nation’s leading example of public access to state government, bringing state government content to your television or computer screen. Not all audiences enjoy politics as much as the capital city, which is where I bring creativity and an out-of-the box approach producing short-form educational, historical and informational programming that showcases the third largest state. My team of three travels the state finding hidden gems while highlighting those stories that impact Florida in the past or going forward. We add creative and artistic flair to state government programming while staying within the mission and brand. Often we are utilized by the news department as studio or production crew, rewriting press releases for broadcast or creating promotional videos.→ Point person for three-person team: organize editor’s work load, confirm production schedules and finalize projects→ Designed the “look” and graphical elements of 11 new short-form programs (Adobe After Effects)→ Pitched, directed and edited station’s first modernized “hype video” utilizing jib and drone camera shots to showcase station’s live coverage and generate viewer buzz (Avid Media Composer) → Oversee interdepartmental coordination for graphic, editing and b-roll library storage → Trainer of robotic camera directors for station’s live government coverage

Public announcements and informational meetings can be boring. Not at Morningside. Since 2014, I have directed and filmed over 250 church members of various ages to tell that week’s announcements. It is more than just a two-minute announcement on the screen. Not everyone has the poise of a news anchor, but I write and edit the volunteers to be true to their personality and worthy of applause.
