Half of my internship was centered on fostering digital literacy among staff and within the community. I was responsible for the integration of iPads into all of the wi-fi accessible library branches, which included staff training on the use and implementation of iPads within the library environment. In addition, I was responsible for organizing, scheduling, and executing one-on-one and group technology training sessions with the general public at each of the wi-fi accessible library branches. The technologies that I trained on included: PC computers, Mac computers, iPads, iPhones, Samsung Galaxy tablets, Android phones, e-readers, the Internet, and library software (e.g. Overdrive, library catalog). I was responsible for a number of special projects during my internship, which included: -Assisting with the ILS migration (Sirsi Dynix). -Assisting with and implementing Maker Space initiatives (e.g. 3D printing, LittleBits, 3D printing pen, Lego, etc.). -Assisting with children's programming (e.g. themed 3D printing projects, Anki Drive, Little Bits, book displays, etc.). -Integrating CollectionHQ and Sirsi Voice Automation within the main library branch and training staff on the use of this software. -Training staff on the use of the 3D printer. -Creating informational & marketing materials for library initiatives (e.g. social media, posters, brochures, bookmarks, etc.).

My primary role as dispatcher is to be the first and last point of contact for individuals hauling material out of our Bowmanville gravel pit. I tare-in and weigh-out trucks using a computer-automated system. In addition, I am responsible for organizing external deliveries. I fulfill a number of administrative duties, including report-drafting and statistics gathering.

I was a tutor/scribe at Scott Young Public School for the grade 6 classes during their EQAO year. I worked primarily with IEP students, either individually or in groups of 2-3. I trained the students on Word Q software, which they used during their testing. I tutored students on their reading and writing skills. I scribed for one student during their EQAO testing, which required me to guide the student through the language component and record their answers as they spoke them.

I worked at the Information Services Desk within the Faculty of Information's Inforum. My primary responsibilities included: opening/closing the library, stack maintenance (weeding, shelving, shelf-reading), reference interviews (in-person, telephone, virtual), general circulation (bibliographic searching, fines payment, creation of borrowing cards, placing holds, renewing materials, charging out/discharging materials), technical assistance, collection development, social media presence, and special projects.

Worked in technical services, circulation, interlibrary loans, and administration. My primary responsibilities included: serials management (shelving, pulling, weeding); maintenance of microforms area & provision of patron assistance with locating microforms/using the equipment; stack maintenance (weeding, shelf-reading, shelving); technical services (end-processing, bibliographic searching, order processing); general circulation (charging out/discharging materials, placing holds, creation of borrowing cards, fines payment, reserves and interlibrary loan maintenance, reference & information services); processing of lending materials and returns in interlibrary loans; and administrative duties (processing of purchase requests, faxing, photocopying, creation of library signage, spreadsheet maintenance, answering telephone, and mail processing). I also took part in special projects, which included: an extensive weeding project that encompassed the reference, reserves, and general stack collections; the re-location and re-organization of the VHS collection; and the development of a new interlibrary loan mailing system.
