My love for libraries began when I was a child. I grew up with a passion for the role that libraries play in society and an understanding of how important these institutions were for knowledge development. This passion and love for libraries, as well as, my library work as an undergraduate were what prompted me to apply to the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information. While at the iSchool, I developed a more thorough understanding of the role that libraries play in today's society and adopted new interests within the field of library and information science. Some of my primary interests include: library advocacy, information/digital literacy, social media awareness, ethnography, maker spaces, and the conservation and preservation of recorded information. My background is primarily in academic libraries, but I have a love for all types of libraries. I feel that the skills I have acquired through my work in academic libraries are transferable to any library environment. I am interested in exploring work outside of the academic library environment, including within public or special libraries.
