I was the sole product manager for a digital news startup covering the people, politics and power of technology. I managed relationships and negotiated contracts with vendors and contract engineers. I also managed and prioritized requests for product work for our frontend and backend and managed our roadmap. I helped implement a migration to new newsletter service provider.Protocol was shut down in late 2022.

I managed a three-person team that worked across the newsroom and with product, design and engineering to prioritize, develop and test/QA work on internal tools for the Los Angeles Times, including the content management system (CMS) used to publish content to and manage our website; a custom-built central budgeting tool; and a system to manage digital assets (photo, video). My team also managed training, support and documentation for these tools for 700+ staff and maintained regular communication with users to gather and synthesize feedback. In addition, my team oversaw project management of select major editorial projects, including investigative stories, multi-part series, podcasts, etc.

Worked across departments and with vendors on migration to and launch of Graphene, a custom CMS built on the Brightspot platform.

Co-manager of a 24-hour 14-member team on three continents overseeing the WSJ mobile apps and Apple News. Launched a major redesign of the WSJ mobile app on iOS/Android, which led to a 200% increase in time spent in the news feed, a 667% increase in time spent on the article pages, and a 4.5 star rating in the Apple App Store, up from 2.3 stars.

Curated content and troubleshot technical problems on the WSJ mobile apps for iOS and Android, including the daily e-edition.
