Group Leader And Americorps MemberSuper Stars Literacy Oct 2014 - Jun 2015Oakland, CaI shared my love of reading and writing with first graders at a low-income Oakland school. Throughout the year we focused on learning to blend letter sounds, the meaning of setting and characters in a story, and the importance of the ubiquitous silent "e". We also fostered a classroom love for Dr. Suess and fan-fiction stories about Elsa, naturally. It was an enriching year full of challenges and rewards. I know this experience will continue to inspire me in my passion for change in education!
