I am responsible for a range of initiatives tied to the strategic objectives of Economic Development Cowichan, including research and analysis, project coordination, stakeholder relations, event management, and marketing and public relations. Current focus areas include internet connectivity, tech training, labour shortages, food innovation, and the circular economy.

My main priority at Harlequin was helping our customers, whether they be local businesses looking for custom logoed garments, souvenir shop managers searching for wildlife t-shirts for their store, or the general public looking for a new rain jacket. Once an order had been placed, I generated all the required paperwork, ordered the blank garments, and provided detailed instructions to our warehouse and production crew in completing the order. When I was not helping customers, I worked on a variety of streamlining projects.

In January 2017, my position shifted to the management of our marketing efforts. My position originally encompassed wedding venue coordination, before moving on to marketing. This newly created position had me developing and maintaining the online presence of the Chateau Victoria, as well as its rooftop grill, Vista 18 Westcoast Grill & Wine Bar, and cocktail lounge, Clive's Classic Lounge. This included social media, websites, review sites, and others. I also performed a significant portion of the hotel's graphic design and any other projects that came up in the Sales department.

I worked on contract for a luxury chalets property management and rental company on Humber Valley Resort. As part of this contract, I researched the business's current client base and competition, and developed a 12-18 month marketing plan designed to increase revenues and explore new target markets. I began the process of executing the plan, including work on Google and TripAdvisor, implementing online booking, website content creation, and more.

My position encompassed member relations and engagement, digital marketing, event planning, destination/product development, administration, and a host of other responsibilities. During this short contract, I consulted with the tour operator owner to determine the best way to deploy a new company website, including deciding on the content management system, hosting setup, etc. I researched and presented a variety of responsive themes and then used WordPress to create the new site. This work included migrating all information from the old site to the new site.

I began this position as an intern, brought on to assist with the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) conference in May 2012. After being hired on for the summer, I also became heavily involved in digital marketing through social media, website, and other online media. Through my work, I built relationships with local businesses, including restaurants, attractions, and accommodations.

As an Ambassador, I led small, interactive group campus tours with a focus on student services, and made calls to engage prospective students and market Humber College. I also worked in a call centre environment to make calls to prospects to market Humber by engaging students, as well as participating in special events, including Open House, Convocation and College Fairs, where I answered questions and promoted Humber College.

In my various retail positions, I provided excellent service by listening to customers to determine the products and services that met their needs. I communicated with distributors and manufacturers to research products, created and modified product displays to promote new items or themes, performed bookkeeping tasks such as preparing bank deposits and reconciling sales records, took phone and online orders and responded to telephone or electronic mail enquiries. I managed stock rotation, inventory records, receiving orders, as well as working with a computerized system for keying in orders, creating and maintaining customer files and producing invoices and other documents.

During my undergraduate studies, I held various summer positions related to my degree in Zoology, including dairy farm labourer, animal attendant and research assistant. I worked closely with various large and small animals, operated machinery, performed experiments and analyzed data, supervised other staff, and provided customer service in retail and zoo environments.
