As a researcher and a creator, I am committed to: designing projects that respond to community-identified information needs; using words and visuals to increase public awareness of social inequities and environmental injustice in Canada; and, creating works that showcase the cultural vitality and environmental knowledges of Anishinabeg and, by so doing, inspire the next generation of Indigenous scholars.As a contributing member of the University of Guelph and Canadian society at large, I strive to: contextualize Indigenous issues that impact Crown-Indigenous relations in Canada to reduce conflict and to develop common ground; and, decolonize the Canadian education system by affirming Indigenous world views, reclaiming Indigenous pedagogies, and sharing ancestral teachings (if and when appropriate) with the Canadian public.
