Writes stories and does multimedia projects for Richland Source, an online community news source founded in 2013. Our mission is to serve the citizens of Richland County and central Ohio by delivering a positive, optimistic take on the news of the day. As a news source, that requires us to occasionally break from either tradition or current news trends in fundamental ways.

Occasionally maintains and tweets from the Globe's Twitter handle, @SDGnewsgroup. Works as part of a three-person newsroom team. Maintains professional relationships with Shelby officials.

Handed out photo assignments. Took pictures, including coverage of prominent political figures, Ohio State football and men’s basketball, and feature photos, many of which ran on the front page. Edited pictures for print and online versions of The Lantern. Managed a staff of 25+ photographers each academic quarter. Helped run weekly photo meetings.

Managed the Twitter account for the Ohio State chapter of SPJ, @SPJohiostate. Also managed the email account.

Columbus, Ohio Area

Redesigned medical booklets to be handed out to doctors. Helped maintain social media accounts. Created a blog to introduce the company’s newest healthcare app. Wrote blog posts and press releases.

Called potential students who expressed interest in Ohio State to answer questions about college and the admissions process while also stressing the benefits of an education at OSU and making them feel comfortable and welcome at the university. Worked in a team setting.

Troy, Ohio

Learned how to interact in a professional environment. Learned the importance of meeting deadlines. Interviewed sources. Wrote four stories, including two features about unique Troy residents that appeared on the front page.

Beavercreek, Ohio

Interacted with children and parents. Helped make customers comfortable. Took pictures of a variety of subjects, including infants, toddlers, couples, seniors, and families. Edited portraits, including minor retouching with Photoshop. Presented portraits to customers. Printed, cut and packaged finished portraits. Worked with a partner in the camera room.
