I don't know about you, but I love a good puzzle. There's a certain sense of calm and thrill when I stare at a table full of 1,000 or more unconnected pieces. Since I grew up in a pretty conservative Christian household where we were all home schooled with little TV and internet and a lot of time on our hands, it wasn't uncommon for my family to spend hours around the coffee table putting very large jigsaw puzzles together. Although I often took these small, peaceful moments for granted when I was young, I have now come to truly appreciate the values my family gave me. Time and time again, I've found myself approaching life's challenges the same way I approach a jigsaw puzzle. These skills transformed me from a D student at the beginning of high school to a 4.0 student in my sophomore year of college. When I studied journalism in Ireland and fashion trends in Jordan, I adapted to cultural norms and built strong relationships very quickly with the locals. After I graduated, I found that it wasn't difficult to quietly and patiently help others discover solutions to their issues whether I was teaching children piano or adults how to use an iPhone. And now, whether I am creating makeup for a client while helping them navigate their beauty journey from the inside out or assembling courseware for children online and abroad, I find it all exciting and enjoyable. Because, in the end of the day, I'm doing what I love...helping others complete beautiful works of art, one piece at a time.
