About Brittany Marcil
Risk it for the biscuit they say. I took the plunge and left a long time position to join the Public Servant life, right in the heat of the pandemic - a whirlwind experience and I have zero regrets. I made my way over to the Federal Government working for Environment and Climate Change Canada as a Senior Program Delivery Officer, coordinating funding agreement (FA) negotiations and claims and taking names. I am assisting in battling Climate Change one task at a time. Being the lead coordinator, I am responsible for monitoring the progress on all files from initiation to closure, which involves quality assurance on FA negotiations, claims, statistics, reports and much more. When I’m not managing data until the sun starts to set, I am coordinating tasks, evaluating internal processes, and creating tools and guides in an effort to increase program effectiveness – all for the greater good of our beautiful planet, of course.I previously worked as an Administrative Professional for over 9 years in a healthcare setting at Public Health Ontario, where I dealt with the first-class care of health protection and promotion for Ontarians; including dealing with the early days of the COVID19 crisis.I studied Criminology with a concentration in Psychology at Carleton University, so I have a keen sense for scoping out the good, the bad, and the ugly. My array of job history shows that I am very flexible and anything that I do not have experience in, I am confident that I would learn quickly and efficiently. I am always looking to gain experience, expertise, and to garner new skills in a broad range of job settings and all aspects of my life. I have a plethora of skills waiting to be put to use. My bubbly personality and sharp wit aids in my above-average customer service/people skills. I believe this to be beneficial in liaising and maintaining relationships with clients, coworkers, stakeholders, and my superiors. I type like a machine, I manage my time and assignments like a boss, I am trustworthy and discrete, I have a love for attention to detail/managing information, I can balance fun with professionalism, and I have a creative side that I am itching to tap into. I project some of my creativity with photography as a hobby and also as the lead of my current and past works’, Social Committees.
