My UTA position entails grading homework assignments for ME 324 (Manufacturing Engineering).

I worked with the Claussen Lab to research and test several types of wearable biosensor devices. My duties included conducting preliminary literature research to present the findings at lab meetings and performing testing on several biosensor device components.

I was a UTA for ME 170 and ME 415/466. For ME 170 I attended the classes and answered any questions the students had about assignments or class material. I also prepared and presented several demos to showcase certain SolidWorks features and functions. For ME 415/466 I graded student papers according to the rubric and assisted with various tasks associated with the course such as preparing materials for the class and updating the Canvas page.

I taught a class of 15 freshman mechanical engineering students twice a week for 50 minutes. My purpose as a peer mentor was to provide support and information that would help my students transition to ISU as seamlessly as possible. My lessons consisted of how to develop skills for academic success, useful information about campus, career preparation, team building activities, and other topics that provide a solid college foundation. I also held one-on-one meetings with each student to get to know them and ensure that they had all of the resources and assistance that they needed.

As an Intern at Wandling I performed many tasks and duties giving me a wide variety of experiences. I frequently developed to-scale models in AutoCAD based on field measurements. In addition to this, I set up an ran tests on various materials and equipment to collect data for open cases. I also calibrated several devices, including thermocouples. Throughout my employment I compiled information and standards into a document used for reference during the composition of official reports.
