Together with my colleagues, I promote mental health and job readiness at the Center by providing screening, consultation, therapy, education, and referral services.

I provide individual therapy to children (ages 8 and up), adolescents, and adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, and other clinical issues. Along with other team members, I also provide clinical supervision to some of the wonderful LPCs in our growing practice.

I served families in underserved communities by providing individualized assessment and treatment planning, individual therapy, case management, and consultation. I also improved the agency's clinical documentation by creating a note template that was implemented throughout the Behavioral Health and Clinical Services division.

I provided clinical interviews, individual therapy, ACT/DBT groups, family sessions, and discharge planning to adults on a general inpatient psychiatric unit.

I provided individual and group therapy to clients in residence at A Safe Haven Foundation. I served three of Safe Haven's facilities: our main transitional living facility, our recovery home, and an SRO building. My clients ranged in age from 17-60+ and faced complex biopsychosocial challenges, including poverty, addiction, trauma, disability, discrimination, medical conditions, legal involvement, and a wide range of mental illnesses.

I helped graduate students improve their writing skills, including grammar, mechanics, APA style, clarity, and conciseness. In individual meetings and online (using the track changes and comments features in Word), I reviewed student papers and taught students how to revise their own work.

I provided friendly service at the circulation desk. I also assisted patrons in using other library resources, including print media, electronic research databases, A/V media, microfiches, neuropsychological assessments, and interlibrary loan requests. I routinely used Voyager, ILLiad, and Docutek software.

I provided individual therapy to 4-8 clients each week. Using psychodynamic, CBT, and client-centered approaches, I helped students struggling with past trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, academic concerns, and other challenges. My clients were primarily young adults and included African-Americans, Latino/as, LGBT students, and students with disabilities.

I provided comprehensive psychological evaluations and recommendations to help students be successful in school and/or in therapy. I also provided individual therapy, co-facilitated two veterans' groups, and connected students with housing, medical care, and other community resources. My clients ranged in age from 18-64 and often faced complex psychosocial challenges, including low income, past trauma, neurocognitive disabilities, and discrimination.

I identified 35 organizations in 24 states to whom to reach out for participants in “Leap of Faith,” a semiannual retreat and skydive for people who have lost family members in military service.

I administered the WASI and MATRICS battery to study participants. Other duties included orienting new participants and obtaining informed consent, following up with participants in a prospective study, and performing data entry and data backup.

I assisted the twelve residents of a group living program (clients with severe and/or chronic mental illness) with activities of daily living, such as cooking and computer use.

I created press releases for an original play and worked as the director's personal assistant.
