Whether I’m evaluating avalanche risk in the backcountry, navigating shifty wind on the ocean, or designing usability tests at my desk, I consider the cascading effects of my decisions carefully. As a naturally curious and strategic problem-solver, I love messy problems that demand careful attention when defining user needs and identifying the best ways to uncover them. My experience in UX Research began as a Marketing Manager at US Sailing. In that role, I automated data analysis practices that allowed us to tailor the content and design of a video streaming platform. Better meeting the needs of our users resulted in 350x the impressions the same content would have garnered in a “normal” year of in-person events. Since getting certified in UX/UI Research and Design, I combined quantitative and qualitative methods to help an early-stage startup evaluate their business model, identify barriers to scale, and discover user-centered opportunities for design improvements. In and out of the office, I like to be challenged. When I’m away from my desk, you can find me seeking these challenges on the ocean or in the mountains. My latest addictions include kite surfing, sailing, trail running, backcountry snowboarding, and camping.
