Fulmar Floating Storage Unit (FSU) & Single Anchor Leg Mooring.April 1980 – October 1982Conversion of an ex Shell 'M' class Tanker ( MEDORA 210,000 tons) into a storage unit, positioned mid North Sea. Anchored to a depth of 80m, to a 3000 tons leg mooring. Oil would come from Fulmar 'A' Platform, along the sea bed to the S.A.L.M. rise through & stored in the tanks. Oil would be transferred off the aft end, onto a second tanker. This would then transport oil to shore.
