When I was a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut, a director, and a teacher. Now, I would still love to be all three. I love to mix interdisciplinary skills. I've always felt a pull towards education, the natural sciences, and filmmaking. As rising junior at Lawrence University, I know I want to educate the youth on the natural sciences, reaching them not only as an educator, but as a content creator as well. Throughout my four years of high school, I mastered Adobe programs, film production, and teamwork. Constantly working in groups and learning of the many things that could go wrong–from actors running late, to equipment malfunctioning–truly prepared me for finding quick, creative solutions to challenges in all areas of life. In college, I've continued with my Biology degree with a concentration in Ecology. I've taken courses in Animal Behavior, Terrestrial Field Ecology, as well as courses in chemistry, physics, and geoscience to expand my breadth and fuel my love of learning. I am well-versed in the R coding language, data science, science-research writing, and in developing animal studies. At the same time, I'm on the path to receiving a teacher certification, and have taken courses such as the Psychology of Learning, and will take courses like the Sociology of Education to better prepare myself to not only teach future students, but allow myself to be taught by them.
