Preparation and characterisation of mono- and bi-metallic nanoparticles coated in iron oxide. Advanced electron microscopy analytical techniques were used to map the elemental distribution in hetero-structured nanoparticles. The particles formed have potential applications for magnetic separation and high density data storage.This work has been presented at conferences in Seville, Prague, Warsaw and Cambridge, as either a poster or an oral presentation.
