About Brandon Michaels

Over the last decade, we have witnessed community banks and credit unions continually losing ground to large financial institutions and FinTechs/TechFins. Innovation, User-Experience, Digital-First, and automation are terms not generally applied to community banks and credit unions. Today's leaders should see the world through a different perspective and lens. I am a people-first and dynamic leader who brings the best and smartest people together to build a purpose and mission-driven organization. My Zone of Genius is elevating people and organizations through transformational leadership and an inspiring vision. Branding through people. Some keyword traits and perspectives:Proud Father. Loving Husband. People-Focused. Change Agent. Humorous. Thought Leader. Challenger of Status Quo. Innovator. Strategic. Results Driven. Company Culture Instigator! Avid Pilot. Public Speaker. In my last role at JSC FCU, with a talented team, we nearly doubled the size of the loan portfolio, increased assets by 15%, and significantly transformed the technology stack into a future-ready, CX-driven platform. I also championed the 5-year strategic plan for diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and practices that would set the company on a path to be an industry leader. I aim to be a leader who understands the power of marketing and branding in the growth and transformation of companies.

  • Jsc Federal Credit Union
    President & Ceo
    Jsc Federal Credit Union 2018 - 2021
    Houston, Tx, Us
Recruited to transform the head and heart of the organization's operations and culture and energize the organization toward a more relevant and prosperous future. During my time at JSC FCU, I hired a transformational executive team that was committed to a customer-centric philosophy and a more digitized future. Following a period of lower-than-average growth, JSC FCU was on track to achieve $5B in assets by 2025. My team and I revamped operational cadences to achieve significant technological changes. We also implemented a new operating model - SAFe Agile - to speed the delivery of member-facing and operational technologies. In just under two years, the loan portfolio more than doubled, providing revenue windfall to invest in customer-centric technologies and expand the market reach of the organization. During my time at JSC FCU, several enterprise-wide improvements were implemented, with several system integrations occurring in 2021. The list of improvements from 2018 to 2021 is inspiring and was only accomplished through the incredible leadership and buy-in of my executives and senior leadership. I am forever thankful for their service and commitment to the vision I established with the Board. In summary, Digital Transformation is the name of the game for JSC FCU. JSC FCU is in the midst of significant growth and transformation across all business platforms, spearheaded by my vision. This led to unprecedented growth in loans, assets and income during my near-3 year tenure. During my time at JSC FCU, DEI was also a very strong focus and an imperative piece to a successful strategy and company culture. This was culminated in a comprehensive board-approved plan, with enterprise-wide training and commitment. JSC FCU's commitment to DEI is well-chronicled and know they will accomplish phenomenal things!
