At Netflix, we organize our data teams by vertical business subject areas. My Streaming Data Engineering & Analytics team focuses on streaming video usage and performance data. We provide data and analytic insight to our partner teams that build the streaming client software for the devices that you cozy up with to stream your favorite shows, architect our content delivery networks to stream >one third< of the peak Internet traffic in North America and engineer server systems that manage a near-flawless execution each time you hit the play button.

Linden Lab is the creator of Second Life, the world's leading 3D virtual world environment. • Led a team of 4, responsible for data warehousing, financial processing, real-time analytics, reporting tool platform and enterprise logging infrastructure• Rebuilt the data warehouse platform from the ground up, including:- New database platform (Netezza), allowing the warehouse to scale from 2 to 30+ TB- New ETL infrastructure, creating flexible and independent loading to ensure fastest delivery of data- New data model for reporting, bringing in industry best practices for efficiently and accurately presenting data to the business- New reporting tool (MicroStrategy), providing more stable reports and enabling greater user-level reporting capabilities• Managed additional analytic team of 5 through organizational restructuring• Responsible for annual operating budget of over $1M of software and outside services• Defined agile workflow and process for managing development of tasks across a wide spectrum of company data needs
