This position provides a unique opportunity to be challenged with new technologies as well as methodologies. Along with development, we get the privileged of interfacing with many other groups throughout the company to help in improving processes, technology, and culture.From a methodology side, this position allows our team deep dive into Scrum as our Agile development method of choice. Iterations, Continuous Integration (with: Code Standards, PHPUnit, Canoo/Selenium, and JMeter), Daily Scrums, Demos, Documentation, and Retrospectives have gone from concept, to implementation and are being continually improved.From a programming angle, we have mastered the eCommerce platform of Magento (Enterprise Edition). Magento is build on the Zend Framework, but has flourished into a framework of its own. I have been working with Magento since the end of 2008, and am continuing to learn and innovate within it's "ecosystem". From a research perspective, we have been dabbling and/or deep diving into areas like mobile development, complex reporting and data analysis, social commerce, and much much more.Lastly, and one of my favorite parts of this position, is the ability to reach across departments to train/mentor other entities in Agile as well as in newer development practices and tools. These unique relationships with many other departments affords my team and me the opportunity to influence the culture of the entire company.
