My ideal career would be one where I could protect animals and their environments. This is my passion in daily life, and my goal is to participate in a larger capacity by working within a company that has the same passion for the rights of animals and can make a positive change. To work towards this goal, I am studying for a bachelor of science, majoring in conservation and biodiversity. During my first year of study, I took a multidisciplinary laboratory course where the course coordinator split the people taking the course into groups to collect, test and purify water samples collected from the campus and write a report of our findings. To accomplish this, our group decided on a way that we individually do the testing so it could be completed by the deadline and come back together to write the report to ensure all aspects were covered. The paper was graded as a distinction for our work on this report. I currently work as a 2IC picker/packer within a warehouse, which has taught me safety awareness. I work around machinery, and the risk of severe injury is vast if the safety guidelines are not followed. I want to be able to make a more significant change in the well-being of the lives of animals, and as such, it is my goal to work with a company that facilitates this.
