📖 Hello, my name is Brock Nelson. I'm the CEO of CoStudy, an edtech startup focused on empowering students with collaboration skills. I completed my undergraduate degree at Boston University Metropolitan College in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating in engineering business management.🧩 My path into the tech space began after placing 2nd in the 2019 Adobe Creative Jam for the design of a mobile application intended to bring diverse groups of students together across campus to form study groups. I was hooked on creating impact through innovation and intentional design.🛠 As I continued my education in mechanical engineering, applying math and science to solve complex physical problems became very exciting. I became involved with a team called Ocean-Based Climate Solutions, which used a fluid mechanical system to trigger phytoplankton blooms, sinking massive amounts of carbon into the ocean depths while producing an Oxygen byproduct.🤔 After going into the "innovation" field, I began to ask questions, like "what counts as innovation?" and "How should we value innovations?" which led me to intern at IdeaTrek, a venture capital firm where I have been engaged with startups and philosophers to answer those questions.⏳ My interpersonal abilities contribute to my effectiveness, as I have gained a reputation for creating, executing, and managing projects in a variety of fields with my colleagues, clients, and mentors. I seek to create an organization that challenges the status quo through providing students with experiences that will empower them to lead themselves and others.
