Brock Stevens work experience

Aged Care Assistant
During the pandemic I decided it was a good time to try something different from my usual stream of work. I worked as an Aged Care assistant for clients at their own houses. I would drive to multiple clients houses in and around Melbourne suburbs and look after them for either multiple hours a day or for longer extended shifts like overnight care or 24 hour shifts. Though this role I established my skills in personal care and learnt that I am a deeply empathetic person.
Lead Bartender / Bottle Shop Operations Assistant
CurrentWhile in the Bar I was ensuring the bar was always manned, helped guests with finding their reservations, serving drinks and managing cash flow. During shifts worked in the Bottle shop I was arranging and upkeeping appropriate visual merchandising, maintaining and ordering stock and sustaining our reputation for great customer experience and product knowledge.
Christmas Casual
As a Christmas Casual at Country Road, I played a pivotal role in creating a positive shopping experience for customers during the holiday season. My responsibilities included warmly welcoming customers, providing excellent customer service, and efficiently operating cash registers. I took great pride in my appearance as well as ensuring I was always upholding pristine brand values. I learnt how to correctly operate cash registers, process transactions accurately, and handled cash transactions with precision, contributing to the smooth flow of the store's daily operations. While in this position I also handled various tasks, including customer inquiries, cleaning duties, as well as handling online orders, showcasing flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced retail setting.
Casual
I was responsible for welcoming customers and helping meet their needs with either shoes or clothing items. Key Responsibilities Included welcoming customers and assisting them to try on shoes or clothes with sizes and styles. Being an Australian worker in A Dutch environment I was able to master my people skills. Working with people from different backgrounds who often speak different languages taught me valuable skills in communication. Aside from language, I also experienced working with people who often had different senses of humour than the typical Australians and that navigating this it is necessary to be extra precautions and navigate all situations with empathy and care.
Bartender, Cocktails
Working at the iconic Naked for Satan I worked weekdays and weekends. I really enjoyed the tourism side of this role, people travelled from all over Australia, sometimes even internationally to come and visit and try our signature cocktails. I was creating and perfecting cocktails and forming relationships with our clients. In this role I worked often with regular cliental to make off menu gems! The team was tight-knit and I found my feet in a bar being able to work independently as well as in a very close working team.
Bar Manager/Staff Training
While working at the Corporate Moose I was a Bartender and cocktail maker, working part time most often running opening or closing shifts. My key responsibilities included training new staff members general running of the bar as well as cash operations and cocktail lists. I particularly enjoyed coordinating and running training for tastings such as Tap Beers/Seltzers, liqueurs and Spirits.
