*Served as a special education teacher beginning in Fall 2014. Taught reading and math to middle school students primarily. Spent one year in a self contained classroom with severe and profound special needs students. Each day they were taught mini lessons from all core subjects (reading, math, science, history) and lessons on basic life skills were also included within my curriculum. During this time I worked for Mansfield ISD and then Burleson ISD.*Prior to becoming a special education teacher, I taught Speech to high school students and also co-taught two sections of theatre: tech and production. We focused on types of speeches, when to use them as well as a course on resume writing. We also spent time on understanding verbal vs nonverbal communication patterns. In theatre, we focused on learning the technical end of production such as light and sound, etc. The production class focused on the acting and costuming itself and both classes worked in unison to create an official One Act Play competition.*In 2013, I was a teaching assistant for the special education department. I spent one semester in a life skills setting and the other was in the behavioral unit for students with severe behavior challenges. Was employed by the Longhorn Council (HQ in Fort Worth) as a District Executive. Directed all major operations for the Boy Scouts of America for both Denton and Cooke County. Duties included professional fundraising campaigns, membership recruitment drives and adult leadership trainings. By year's end, $75,000 was raised for the organization surpassing the original goal of $70,000. Over 1000 youth were successfully recruited to join the organization in the same timespan.

Elected to the position of Section Chief for Section W-5A (now Section W-6E) of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. Presided over all Order of the Arrow operations for the section which encompassed all Lodges within New Mexico, Southern Colorado and the Greater El Paso, Texas area. Directed the planning and execution for annual Section Conclave event with assistance from the Council of Chiefs. The annual Section Conclave brings in several hundred attendees from three different states and its purpose is for fellowship, leadership training and national level competition among lodges.
