I was the managing editor for Orange and Blue Magazine at the University of Florida with a secondary job of being a senior editor. I came up with the idea for the issue, being the Noise Issue, which won the class vote. I was a senior editor for three stories: a brief, a department and a feature as well as a top editor for the two other features, two more departments and two briefs. Throughout the semester I also kept the class deadline in order. I sent out an average of five emails a week to keep the class up to date on everything that was going on. I checked in on every writer and senior editor throughout the semester.Once the draft was done, I was present at proofing meetings and helped perfect the magazine to something I am extremely proud of.I also have helped contribute to the Orange and Blue Blog.

I was the editor for both the print and email newsletters which go out to more than 5,000 subscribers.I completely designed the email newsletter from the ground up, setting up an email account to handle the newsletter, the subscriber list, the template for the newsletter and the links to subscribe. I redesigned the print newsletter from the ground up, setting it up to be sent out to more than 3,000 home addresses. I ran the Facebook page by adding stories and photos and helped Alachua Habitat for Humanity to reach more people through social media.I also helped around the office doing whatever was asked, whether that was answering phones, making copies, preparing for events or helping with deadlines. If it needed to be done, I was reliable and willing to help.

I worked as a freelance stringer taking assignments as they were handed out. I mainly wrote for The Avenue, which is the entertainment section, taking on assignments such as album reviews, entertainment news and concert previews.
