Worked closely with development and management teams at The Summit at Danbury, a bustling adaptive reuse 2.1 million square feet facility that was once the global headquarters for chemical company Union Carbide. In this experience, I learned the benefits and opportunities of adaptive reuse projects as well as the behind-the-scenes design, maintenance, and programming required for such a large mixed-use building. In addition to my time on-site, I completed a 23-page research report including information that I gathered during my internship as well as outside research about this specific property and others like it across the country in order to further understand adaptive reuse projects. I submitted this report to a professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
