Within this role I am responsible for planning and hosting events on campus to seek the best talent from across the University of York for Enterprise Rent-A-Car's summer, placement year and graduate opportunities. I am also responsible for advertising and encouraging applications to the TargetJobs Management Undergraduate of the Year award which I myself came Top 10 in in 2016. Within this role I have also had the opportunity to shadow assessment centres which has given me a fantastic insight into the role of human resources and is why I wish to work in that sector in my future career.

Nottingham, United Kingdom

I completed a 3 month summer internship with Enterprise Rent-a-Car in the accounting department of their Nottingham headquarters, my responsibilities in this role included daily financial reporting on key company cost areas, business partnering with branch and area managers across the country and accounting for statement purposes.

Throughout term time at University I work at The Glasshouse, one of the University of York's on campus bars in order to support my studies. My responsibilities in this role include manning the bar, handling cash, waitressing and restocking in a very busy environment. I have strongly developed my communication skills in this role as I have had to deal with both customer queries and complaints, sometimes with challenging language barriers effecting communication.

In this role I am responsible for both online and offline marketing to increase the number of student users of the Debut application. I am required to budget for each part of my marketing campaign, effectively communicating ideas between myself, the marketing manager and the other brand ambassadors. I am also responsible for increasing awareness of the organisational goals and values.

Loughborough

During my A-Levels I worked as a weekend store assistant at Primark and after 18 months was promoted to Supervisor of the women's department. I had a wide range of responsibilities including leading the team of staff through the daily requirements set by management, organising my department in a very busy environment and ensuring all overtime was filled. I was also responsible for training up new staff members and dealing with a number of customer queries and complaints ensuring I handled them in a concise and effective manner. I developed a number of skills throughout my time at Primark including communication, leadership and customer service experience.

Loughborough

Over the 2013 Christmas period I worked at Loughborough Student's Union as bar staff to gain some skills in hospitality, a sector I had previously never worked in before. My responsibilities in this role included manning the bar and handling cash, restocking, and ensuring health and safety standards were met using my incentive to ensure customers safety. I developed my communication and time management skills in this position, and also learnt how to plan effectively to ensure stress levels were kept low in the busy environment.
