I was responsible for working collaboratively with businesses located in the borough to help them grow.Key tasks included:Developing and delivering a Business Account Management System to streamline the engagement with businessesConstruction Sector & Digital Sector Group co-ordination including event management, research & engagementBusiness Engagement Developing a service level communication & marketing plan Partnership working with the Business Growth Hub & GM Chamber of Commerce to deliver business support programmes.

Within my career at Oldham Council I have worked alongside residents, senior officers, partners and the voluntary sector to collaboratively deliver effective services and implement change. I have worked both at a strategic and operational level across four different service areas: Public Health, Business Intelligence, East Oldham District Office and Strategic Investment. Within these placements I have successfully: - Planned and implemented an Business Account Management System within Oldham - Co-ordinated the Construction Sector Group- Project Managed a new co-operative approach towards tackling fly-tipping within the borough, including the design and implementation- Undertaken and delivered qualitative and quantitative research, for instance a Welfare Reform report to Full Council - Written EU funding bids for Public Health Growing Projects -Project Managed the implementation of the Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme into Oldham

The NGDP is a two-year graduate management development programme, run by the Local Government Association.The programme has been set up to provide local government with the high-calibre managers that communities need by providing a launch pad for a successful leadership career in local government.Since 2002 over 730 graduates have completed the programme with many now holding influential managerial and policy roles in local government and the wider public sector. The sector is currently going through a huge programme of change and Cohort 17 will be instrumental in redefining how councils will operate in the future for the benefit of local communities.There are four key components to the NGDP:- A series of placements and projects within a host local authority- A programme of learning and development with national and locally delivered elements- National Management Trainees (NMTs) are employed by a participating local authority and enjoy placements in key areas such as policy and strategy, front-line service delivery and support functions.
