Science communication professional with 20 years of experience in Australia, the USA and UK. Specialist expertise in molecular biology, genetics and genomics communication, but also strong experience across broadcast, new media and 3D exhibition experiences in topics including health and medicine, digital technologies, and contemporary science and culture.

Established and maintained a multifaceted public engagement programme for the largest genome centre in Europe, which was awarded more than £2 million in funding by the Wellcome Trust. Managed a multidisciplinary team of animators, educators, administrators and producers. Contributed significantly to the travelling Inside DNA: a genomic revolution exhibition and website (http://www.insidedna.org.uk), produced online resources for YourGenome (http://www.yourgenome.org), advised on projects such as the London Science Museum’s revised Who am I? gallery (http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/WhoAmI.aspx) and supported researchers in collaborations with artists, broadcasters, educational institutions, museums and science centres.

Developed formal and informal educational resources that focus on genetics and molecular biology. Curated and project managed a museum-style exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the structure of DNA. Produced comprehensive online resources including the award-winning DNA Interactive (http://www.dnai.org) and Inside Cancer (http://www.insidecancer.org) sites.

Advised on methods of effective communication and developed policies and frameworks for a new interdisciplinary collection, research and public program team. Led and curated the Biotech & beyond exhibition. Co-developed the Mind and Body gallery and public programmes for Melbourne Museum. Developed content and co-wrote text for the Stayin’ Alive exhibition for Scienceworks.

Managed, promoted and delivered onsite and outreach education programs for school students and public audiences. Programs included interactive science shows, hands-on experiments and professional development materials for primary school teachers.
