Working as a temporary agent for various corporate companies throughout Dublin, Ireland strengthened my level of professionalism within an office setting. The experience also increased my ability to self-monitor my time and ensure deadlines are met and tasks completed to a high standard. Meeting these high standards in the workplace has transferred through to my education as well. Attention to detail, time management, diligence, and teamwork are important components in many Edwards School of Business classes. In the fall semester of 2016, I demonstrated these skills during a group term project. Weekly meetings and longer work session were required to complete a formal report and supporting documents. Time management and diligence were necessary to meet team determined goals and checkpoints on time. Teamwork was essential in the completion of the preliminary work and report draft. My attention to detail used when editing the final report resulted in a grade of 94.5%, exceeding the team's goal.Accurate data and information collection also comply with my high standards. Summer work experience for Cameco Exploration included the regular recording of geological core data into the central database. Accurately recording the data was important as the information is permanent and used for internal and external research and records. As a Front Desk Agent at Motel 6, accurately recording customer information and requests over the phone provides is vital. Accuracy ensures a smooth arrival process, happy clients, high ratings on travel sites, and loyal, returning customers. Thirdly, as a temp agent, accurately recording and relaying information secured me over 35 placements in less than ten months including some repeat clients. My employer recognized my diligence and hard work by giving me the Dublin Temp of the Month award for November 2015.These skills are transferable to other work environments, and will assist in my pursuit of an accounting career.
