Responsible for Procurement (purchasing) and Vendor Management of all SKUs (1200+) and materials including components for workshop kits, single SKU marketplace items, tools needed for efficient production, and shipping materials/supplies. Reduced COGS by 50% within first year.Oversaw the Production team, which is responsible for raw material breakdown and kit creation. The Procurement and Production Manager works closely with business partners across Merchandising, Inventory Management, and Fulfillment.Build and develop a team of Production and Procurement Leads and Associates; provide training, mentorship and development opportunities for direct reports; help them train, retain, and develop their teams Work with the Merchandising Manager, Creative Lead, and talent to help land the final list of materials for workshops, suggesting high-margin, on brand, readily-available items. Ensure that any printed materials for kits created by the Marketing/Creative team are accurate (e.g. photographic “how to” guides); request any additional packaging/labeling needed.Handle the purchasing of all SKUs and materials for the company, from contract negotiation and onboarding of new vendors to tracking and final receipt of POs.With the Inventory/Warehouse Facilities Lead, ensure order accuracy upon receipt of goods, communicating any defects or inaccuracies to vendor immediately; ensure refunds/credits are collected as needed and/or replacement product is shipped in a timely fashion. Ensure any delays/defects are communicated to rest of teamOptimize inbound transportation: using Director of Supply Chain for support as needed, work with Merchandising to back procurement timelines out; work with vendors and freight carriers as needed in order to get the lowest inbound costs possible Manage procurement and production KPIs set by the Director of Supply Chain; own product margin (including inbound transportation and production labor) metrics and work to improve over time
