Director of college access program that places recent college graduates in underserved high schools to serve as full-time college advisers. Uses data-informed approach to evaluate program effectiveness and make strategic decisions. Hire, train, and supervise up to 25 college advisers working in 21 high schools. Lead a leadership team of two graduate students and a program coordinator. Oversee all aspects of fundraising, budgeting, and financial reporting. Manage partnership relations among school systems, the national College Advising Corps, and funders. Build new partnerships to increase impact and support financial sustainability.

Led the Department of Education's initiatives to recruit and retain diverse teacher licensure candidates. Main duties included creating and implementing a recruitment and retention plan; managing a state fund; hiring, training, and supervising student employees; building and maintaing partnerships with K-12 school systems and other institutions of higher education; and tracking, analyzing, and reporting data.

Coordinator of a federally funded program that seeks to increase the number of students who graduate from high school and are prepared to succeed in postsecondary education. Responsibilities included hiring and supervising tutors and summer enrichment program staff; providing career, academic, and financial aid advising to students and families; planning and leading field trips; creating and managing summer enrichment programs; and building partnerships with businesses, the faith community, nonprofits, and institutions of higher education.

Coordinated multiple projects, including: a community outreach project that encouraged SNAP recipients to shop at the farmer's market; an annual marketing conference for over 200 farmers; a bi-monthly newsletter for the Southeast Region of the National Farm to School Network, distributed to over 1,000 people; the volunteer program, including hiring and managing interns; farm to school projects such as cooking demonstrations and farm field trips for children. As coordinator for these projects I amanged a budget, tracked and reported on their progress.

Facilitated conversations among students and their representatives in Congress. Selected to teach a special program for students who had recently immigrated to the United States, and a program the week of the presidential inauguration in January 2009.
