Researched links between vitamin intake and study participant data including variables of birth control, number of pregnancies, and WIC status. Ran statistical analyses such as correlations, one-way ANOVAs, and repeated measures testing. Read through current literature to find gaps and flaws in the argument. Created argument for the investigation between vitamins in maternal diet and vitamins in infant nutrition. Studied the differences between breast milk and formula and found that formula-fed infants have differences including a decreased thymus. Researched the effects of refrigeration and freezing stored breast milk on levels of vitamins and oxidation in the breast milk and found that refrigeration was the worst method. Investigated link between soda and colon cancer. Collected data from national databases. Used SEER Stat software. Found that research on the link between soda and cancer is limited except for studies on the caramel coloring in soda, 4-methylimidazole and the recent Harvard study. Assisted with Dr. Smith-Gagen's theory of inflow and outflow on the Churchill County ALL Leukemia cluster.

Gave advisement counseling to high school students on majors and career-tracks within the Division of Health Sciences as well as some general education classes and pre-requisites. Fielded questions from large groups of students and parents on a multitude of questions from student-living to how to stay on course for graduation. Provided tours of the University including the School of Community Health Sciences, dining facilities, and dormitories. Gave presentations to parents and high school students on the Division of Health Sciences, enrollment, and core requirements.

Gave weekly Spring and Fall presentations to parents and high school students as well as current undeclared college students on the Division of Health Sciences that includes Social Work, Nursing, Substance Addiction and Treatment, Public Health, Speech Pathology and Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Pre-Medicine.
