About Brooke Brown

As an experienced executive with demonstrated leadership and impact in philanthropy, nonprofit governance, and public education, I weave together my experience as a teacher, educational leader, researcher, organizational founder and developer, funder and thought partner to help strengthen strategic and programmatic impact across the community. As the ED of the Carson Foundation my leadership reflects my belief that strategic philanthropy engages many non-financial strategies alongside grant-making, including convening, collaborating, advocating, educating, communicating, innovating, and inspiring others to leverage support and investment in partners holistically. I hold a PhD in Educational Leadership and Innovation, Urban Schools Lab, from the University of Colorado Denver, an M.Ed. from Harvard University, Graduate School of Education, in the School Leadership Program, School Developer strand, and a B.A. from Boston College in political science and Spanish.
